Thermal Grizzly has announced two new sets of thermal pads. The launch includes the Minus Pad Extreme 2, a successor to its popular flagship pad, and the brand-new Minus Pad High Compression, an innovative product designed to simplify the installation of a GPU water block.
The Minus Pad High Compression is designed to address a common issue for anyone who has ever installed a full-cover GPU water block: dealing with components of slightly different heights, such as VRAM chips and VRMs. The High Compression pad is highly compressible, allowing a builder to use a single, somewhat thicker pad across all components. The pad will then compress down to the required thickness in each area, and its thermal conductivity can even increase under pressure, ensuring excellent contact and performance.
Then there's also the Minus Pad Extreme 2, which succeeds the original Extreme pads as the company's top-tier pad for thermal conductivity. It uses a new material composition of various aluminium powders and oxides to deliver a similar level of high-end performance, but with what Thermal Grizzly claims is an “optimised price-performance ratio”. The company also states that the new pad is softer than its predecessor, allowing it to conform better to the surfaces of your components for improved heat transfer.
The Minus Pad Extreme 2 will be available starting at €42.90/$50.19 in packs of two, each measuring 120 x 20mm, or as a single piece measuring 100 x 100mm, with a thickness of up to 3mm. The High Compression pads will be available starting at €17.90/$20.94 in two-piece packs, each consisting of 120 x 100mm pads up to 5mm thick.
