God of War’s 20th anniversary has officially come and gone, and while we did get a couple cool new things in celebration, the rumoured remaster for the OG trilogy was nowhere to be seen. Fortunately, it does appear a God of War game is in fact slated for launch in 2025 – though it’s said to be a Greece-based spin-off.

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. After a ton of waiting and many delays, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is finally here. While Ubisoft’s latest AC title may not be able to singlehandedly dig the publisher out of the hole it’s found itself in, initial response to the game appears solid, with the title having surpassed 1 million players in just a couple hours.

Ubisoft is betting a lot on Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Hot on the heels of the successful launch of Portal RTX, Nvidia announced plans for an RTX reimagining of Half-Life 2. The mod, known as Half-Life 2 RTX, has been in development for years but we'll finally have the opportunity to play it for ourselves later this month. 

Avowed marks the biggest first-party Xbox game for 2025 so far, with the Obsidian Entertainment-developed RPG arriving on Microsoft’s console (and PC) just under a month ago. Earlier today, a KitGuru reader reached out to us to let us know about a rather bold claim from a retailer based in the Netherlands. Our reader Ben, who spent €3399 on an MSI RTX 5090 Suprim more than a month ago, was informed by the store that they would not receive their graphics card anytime soon due to a 'product recall'. Specifically, the claim was made that Nvidia had recalled a number of RTX 5090 graphics cards due to a potential fire hazard.

DRM is the bane of many PC players, with DENUVO being the most famous (or infamous). While almost all games with DRM eventually get cracked by fans, developers have begun taking it into their own hands, patching the DRM out soon after launch. Split Fiction is the next big game from Josef Fares and Hazelight Studios. 2025 is a busy year for Obsidian Entertainment, with the Microsoft-owned studio having just released their fantasy RPG Avowed – and The Outer Worlds 2 coming up later this year. Despite having quite a lot on their plate, the creative director for Avowed is hoping to support the series for years to come with expansions or even a sequel.
