It has been a week since the ROG Xbox Ally handheld was announced. This is a collaboration between Xbox and Asus to produce a new handheld with an updated 'gaming UI' for Windows 11 that enables easy switching of apps and quick access to the Xbox app, Battle Net, Steam and other launchers.

Microsoft concluded its recent Xbox Games Showcase event with a lengthy deep-dive into the upcoming The Outer Worlds 2. While it appears to be a solid sequel to 2019’s AA affair, the game has seen some backlash for being the first in Microsoft’s new $80 push. Though unsurprising, the team at Obsidian have confirmed that the price was dictated by Microsoft, not them.

With the Summer Game Fest showcase now out of the way, all eyes are turned to Gamescom for the next wave of game announcements. A number of major publishers have already announced their plans for the event, including the likes of Nintendo, Ubisoft and Capcom. 

Regular readers will likely recall the stories we published earlier this year, based around a raft of emails we received from unhappy customers who purchased RTX 5090 cards from Dutch etailer uwgamespecialist. Unfortunately these issues appear to be still ongoing based on communications we have received from various readers in the last few weeks. Time for quick recap, for the record.

Ever since Microsoft began to bring its library of Xbox titles over to the PlayStation, we’ve seen two of the console’s ‘Big Three’ added – those being Forza Horizon 5 and the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day. It appears as though the 3rd pillar of the Xbox brand is set to branch out, with datamined APIs suggesting that Halo is coming to PlayStation “very soon.”

Microsoft confirmed earlier in the year that it would be pricing some of its newest titles at $80 moving forward. Now, it turns out that The Outer Worlds 2 will be leading that charge as the first $80 Xbox game. 

AMD officially announced two new additions to its Ryzen Z2 line of APUs: the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme and the Ryzen Z2A. These are the same two APUs used in the recently announced Asus ROG Xbox Ally systems.

A small portion of the Xbox Games Showcase was dedicated to hardware. During the showcase, Microsoft officially revealed its new collaboration with Asus ROG, resulting in a new Xbox-themed ROG Ally gaming handheld.

When Sony first showed off the PlayStation 5 at the company’s ‘Future of Gaming’ showcase back in 2020, one of the most interesting titles announced was Capcom’s PRAGMAMA. In the 5 years since, the game has seen quite a few delays – going from a planned 2022 release, to 2023 and then an indefinite delay. Finally, PRAGMATA has resurfaced, showing off a bunch of gameplay and an official release year.

With the Summer game announcement season officially underway, many studios have begun to tease their plans for the coming weeks. Ahead of the impending Xbox Games Showcase, Undead Labs – the team behind State of Decay 3 – have released a cryptic teaser image online.

Yesterday during the State of Unreal livestream, CD Projekt Red showcased a healthy chunk of gameplay from The Witcher 4. The tech demo showcased Ciri on a monster contract mission in the region of Kovir, which has not appeared in any of the previous games.

Roughly one year ago, Microsoft made the shocking announcement that they would be closing down Tango Gameworks – the publisher’s only Japanese studio who also happened to release the critically acclaimed success “in all key measurements” Hi-Fi Rush. Fortunately, the studio was saved thanks to publisher Krafton last August. Finally Tango Gameworks is ready to step back out of the shadows.

Known for their middle-of-the-road output, Ubisoft has shown a commitment to making sweeping changes to its games post-launch. Unfortunately, the publisher appears to have neither the vision – nor the identity – in order to elevate its titles beyond just being “another Ubisoft game.”

Over the past 15 years or so, FromSoftware has gone from strength to strength. Starting with 2009’s Demons Souls, the studio has had a generational run with each new game receiving an increasing number of sales and accolades – culminating with Elden Ring as one of the highest rated games of all time. Though seemingly still a good game, the studio’s upcoming Elden Ring: Nightreign has become the lowest-rated FromSoft title since 2018’s VR exclusive Deracine.

Montech has released some very interesting cases in recent years. This week at Computex, Leo stopped by their booth to get a look at all the latest in PC cases, as well as some new coolers and peripherals.

Lian Li is back for Computex 2025. The company is well known for pushing the envelope for PC aesthetics and that remains true this year, with new AIOs with curved displays and new case designs. 

Corsair always saves some announcements for Computex and this year is no different. At this year's event, Corsair is showcasing new case designs, new cooling hardware. peripherals and more. 

AMD was saving quite a few announcements for Computex after all. At this year's event, the company revealed its latest gaming GPU, the Radeon RX 9060 XT, as well as the new Radeon AI PRO R9700 graphics card for professional workstations. Ryzen makes an appearance too, with AMD revealing the new Threadripper 9000 processors. 

For our first stop of the week at Computex, Leo heads to the MSI booth to take a closer look at new OLED monitors, new ITX motherboards for both AMD and Intel systems, coolers and even a few new graphics cards. 

At Computex this week, Leo checked in with Kingston to get a look at all of the new SSDs and memory modules hitting the market. One of the biggest surprises for us was the unveiling of the new Kingston Fury CAMM2 module, bringing memory to desktop PCs in a whole new format.

Computex 2025 is now underway and we are beginning the week with Nvidia's keynote. Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang, is hosting once again and Leo has come away with the impression that Nvidia just doesn't care about gamers anymore.

KitGuru visited Acer HQ in Lugano earlier this year to get hands-on with the next generation of laptops for the Nitro, Predator, Aspire and Swift ranges. Today, we are able to share everything we learned and saw, with the new laptops being officially announced ahead of Computex. 

This week, someone claimed to have breached Valve's Steam servers, coming away with account information for over 89 million users. Something seemed a bit fishy about the claim at the time, but now, Valve has confirmed that no data breach has taken place.
