Multiple job listings suggest Sony is going all-in on cloud gaming

While Xbox has spent a great deal of time pushing its cloud gaming services (thanks in no small part to Microsoft’s ownership of the Azure cloud computing service), Sony has focused much more on local gaming solutions. This seems to be shifting somewhat with a number of new job listings – alongside recent rumours – suggesting that Sony is going all-in on cloud gaming.

Fallout New Vegas 2 referenced in Steam developer branch

Bethesda is unlikely to get around to Fallout 5 until the end of this decade, as the company plans to tackle The Elder Scrolls 6 before making a new Fallout game. This has left fans asking for Obsidian to step in and make a new spin-off similar to Fallout New Vegas. We've heard that Obsidian would be interested and curiously enough, references to New Vegas 2 have now been found on SteamDB.

E3 2023 might be cancelled

2023 was meant to represent the triumphant return of the Electronic Entertainment Expo, following its fumblings over the past few years. The parties in charge of E3 (the ESA) even brought in the organisation experts ReedPop to ensure that this year’s event goes off without a hitch, Unfortunately, it seems as though E3 2023 might in fact be cancelled as more and more publishers pull out from the upcoming expo.

Steam to end Windows 7 and 8 support by January 2024

Operating system fragmentation has always been an issue for Windows, and while the situation had been mostly resolved thanks to Windows 10 (until Windows 11 was introduced), many users still run much older versions of Microsoft’s OS, including Windows 8 and even Windows 7. Those wanting to play games via Steam however will soon need to upgrade as come the end of the year support for older versions of Windows is officially ceasing.
