Corsair EX300U 2TB External SSD Review

Rating: 8.0.

Corsair has added to its range of external SSDs with the brand-new EX300U, a pocket-sized drive with claimed sequential read/write performance of up to 1,100MB/s. We check out the 2TB model that's priced at £160 here in the UK.

Corsair's new EX300U is available in three capacities: 1TB, 2TB (the drive we are reviewing) and a flagship 4TB model. All three have the same Sequential read/write official ratings: up to 1,100MB/s.

The EX300U uses one of Phison's latest PS2251-17 (U17) controllers. The PS2251-17 is the world's first controller to use a native USB3.2 Gen2 x1 (10Gbps) interface. Being native means there is no need for a bridging chip, taking up space, resulting in more compact drives. We couldn't find any information about what NAND is being used in the drive.

Corsair backs the EX300U series with a three-year warranty.
