Corsair unveils EX400U Survivor with USB4 speeds and compact EX300U with MagSafe

Corsair has unveiled two new portable SSDs, headlined by the EX400U Survivor, which delivers sequential read speeds of up to 4,000MB/s and write speeds of up to 3,600MB/s. Built with a rugged IP55-rated housing, the drive is designed for creators who need both speed and durability while working on the move.

The EX400U Survivor connects via USB4 but remains compatible with USB 3.2 Type‑C and even iOS devices equipped with the same port, making it a versatile option across platforms. A 30cm cable is included for instant plug‑and‑play use. Available in capacities from 1TB to 4TB, the drive also comes with Corsair’s SSD Toolbox software for secure erase and firmware updates, ensuring long‑term performance. It is backed by a five‑year warranty and supported by Corsair’s global customer service network.

Alongside it, Corsair introduced the EX300U, a more compact external SSD aimed at everyday portability. Offering read and write speeds of up to 1,100MB/s over USB 3.2 Gen 2, it is well suited for quick backups, photo transfers and video editing. Its standout feature is a MagSafe‑compatible magnetic ring, allowing it to attach directly to iPhones or other magnetic surfaces for added convenience. Like the Survivor, it is available in 1TB to 4TB capacities and supports Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices. The EX300U is covered by a three‑year warranty.

Both drives are available now through Corsair’s webstore. The EX400U starts at £149.99 while the EX300U starts at £109.99.
